- Austin’s police chief says package bombs caused both explosions in Texas’ capital city on Monday, making it three in 10 days. Police Chief Brian Manley said at a news conference that the latest bombing injured a 75-year-old Hispanic woman.

- The Dallas Opera is staging a work called “Sunken Garden.” It’s known as the “3D opera” because of its groundbreaking fusion of live singers with film and 3D projections. The innovative work debuted in London and now the US premiere is in Dallas. Art & Seek’s Jerome Weeks reports that “Sunken Garden” also blends two artists’ fascinations.
